Why You Need a Sequential Sales System for Your Business

It's quite astounding really, but most small to medium businesses have never taken the time to create any kind of Sales Funnel or sequence for their business. They seem to treat each sale, regardless of whether it's to a new or existing customer, as a separate transaction. Something that is completely unrelated to any other transaction that's ever taken place in their business. If this is how you run your business, you are leaving an absolute fortune on the table.

If you've spent time and money building your website and generating visitor traffic to your site, you might be making a few sales. The thing is, you may be leaving a lot of money on the table. You should be building an email list made up of these website visitors, so you can start to follow up with them and build a relationship.

The best way to sell anything is to ask people exactly what they want, and then turn around and sell it to them. A list of prospects and customers will let you do that far more easily than if you rely purely on website traffic to get the job done.

The easiest way to get started is to put an opt-in form on your website. When somebody opts-in to that list, it's the first step in a multi-step sales funnel that can take people logically through a process of identifying problems, and then offering them the solutions. There is simply no better way to turn your subscribers into customers than by doing this.

This process is called a 'sales funnel' because it lets you take a large group of random website visitors, and sort them into prospects, customers, and ultimately repeat customers. You'll find you have a lot less repeat customers than prospects, but that's to be expected. The goal of the funnel is to automate this sorting process for you, so you don't have to try to do it manually, or worse still, not at all.

There are 3 typical mistakes business owners make with their email marketing.

No 1: Only sending messages to their list when they want to do a promotion.

Send good, helpful content to your readers as well as product offers, and people will stay subscribed to your list for much longer.

No 2: Advertising other people's offers using solo ads.
If you own a decent list, then please don't make a habit of promoting other people's stuff too often. It will just burn out your list and they won't respond to your offers if you keep trying to promote products that aren't related to their core needs.

No 3: Not responding to subscribers.
If a person has a question about your product or wants more information on the tips you provided them, you should answer back as soon as possible. If you signed up to a mailing list, asked a question, and never got a response back then you would probably do what most people would do, unsubscribe and never purchase from that company again.

If you want to build a profitable sales funnel, it's a good idea to do it in a way that lets you stand out from your competitors. While it can take quite a bit of effort initially, it's not that difficult to do, and will more than pay for itself over time. An easy first step is to give your clients a free PDF report explaining how using your service can help them solve their main problem, and giving them the first couple of steps so they feel like they are moving towards getting it fixed.

Free trials, discount coupons and special subscriber-only offers, video training on how to use your products, and customer surveys are the kind of non-promotional content you can send to your subscribers by email that they'll enjoy receiving. Staying in touch with your readers with helpful ideas will show you care for them, and can keep you at the top of their mind when it comes to buying one of the products or services you supply. By automating a sales funnel like this, you can spend less time on chasing more customers, and more time helping your existing customers to buy more of your products and services from you, with much higher margins and profits.
